We live in a world, in a culture, in a society that constantly influences our values, our thoughts, our choices, our identity.
What do you allow to define who you are? What pressures, what outside sources, what people, what media? As a Christian we should not be defined by the things of this world. That’s easier said than done, but it’s the truth.
1 Peter was written to Christians who were suffering. Christians who were feeling the pressure of their world, their culture, their society to compromise what defines them. Our struggles are very different, but with a very similar root. Are we going to allow the world around us to define us and compromise our faith? Or are we going to claim the identity that we have through Christ? What are you defined by?
