Being a church visibly connected to the heart of Christ by actively bringing hope to the community through serving, transforming, and reproducing others to the same heart and actions
Jesus says in Matthew 28:18-20 that we are to “go” and “make” disciples. Disciple making is involvement, interaction, and investing through a relationship into the spiritual connection and continued spiritual growth of someone.
In this last summer series we will be focusing on making disciples, which is what the final third of our vision statement talks about: “through serving, transforming, and reproducing others to the same heart and actions.” Our strategy for making disciples will involve: Bible Study, Fellowship, and Service. Our Bible Study, Fellowship, and Service should all result in serving which will help us with the “go” part as we reach out and will help us with the “make” part as we serve together. Our Bible Study, Fellowship, and Service are all involved in the transforming process. And our Bible Study, Fellowship, and Service are all instrumental in reproducing more disciples.
To assist in this we are involving groups that already are involved in Bible Study, Fellowship, and Service and focusing their work to be more directed toward the effort of “going” and “making” disciples. Sunday Schools, Small Groups, and Ministry Teams, which are already involved in Bible Study, Fellowship, and Service will be considered our “Discipleship Teams.” These “Discipleship Teams” will be where we serve, transform, and reproduce with the goal of making more disciples.
