March 26th & 27th
The 30 Hour Famine is a fun, challenging, exciting, and spiritually uplifting event. My youth group did this almost every spring when I was in high school and I loved it. You get to play games, hang out with friends, and come to the foot of the Cross all in one weekend. And the best part is you get to do it all without eating a thing. Even though it may seem like you will die if you don't eat, the human body can stay alive for over a month without any food.
The 30 Hour Famine is associated with World Vision. The purpose of the 30 Hour Famine is to raise awareness about poverty around the world, raise funds to help the impoverished, and raise students spiritual maturity so they can see beyond themselves and their own world.
Every day over 25,000 children under the age of 5 die from preventible diseases and malnutrition. 1 out of every 7 people on the planet don't get enough to eat. Every dollar that our students raise for the 30 hour famine will feed and care for a child for a day. Just 30 dollars can help feed and care for a child for a whole month. The biggest ways that you can get involved and help is donate to our students for the 30 hour famine, sponsor a child through World Vision, and pray.
For our Service Project we will be going to the Heart House in Auror, IN where we will help cook, serve, and clean-up for lunch on Saturday.
Every student participating must have a MCC medical liability release form signed and a 30 hour famine consent form for World Vision signed.

Families Growing Families Coping
Our families undergo a great deal of stress and pressure. Sometimes it feels like you are growing and other times it feels like all you can do is hold on to what little you have left. This series deals with some of these tough subjects.
