The Epic of Epics
The word "epic" has become a bit of a modern catch phrase to express that something is above or beyond other events or objects in it's category. This is loosely connected to the form of literature that is called "an Epic" or "Epic Poetry."
For our Christmas Sermon Series this year we are using 3 of the 6 elements used in writing "Epic Poetry" to remind us of how truly "epic" the Christmas story is. But there are two major differences between the Christmas story and other Epic Poetry:
1. The Christmas story is non-fiction, it is real.
2.
We are all active characters in the plot of this Epic.
