When someone close to you dies, you tend to remember your last conversation. You remember their last words, the last moments that you had together. As Jesus gave His life on the cross, He shared seven statements recorded in the four Gospels. Words that I’m sure were etched into the memories of those who were there to hear them. Leading up to Easter this year we are going to look at each statement and understand the depth of these famous last words that Jesus shared with the world before He gave up His spirit and breathed His last. Words that He shared while bearing our sins, that great and terrible day.
As we close the Gospel of Matthew and head into Easter we will take a look at some of the final truths and virtues that Jesus illustrated both through parables and through His last hours before the cross.
